Rebecca Wachtel joins Cable 11 News from sunny California. She graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Communications. While attending SDSU she was an executive member of the Alpha Phi sorority, and held the positions of Director of C.O.B. and Rush Chair. After graduating she started her career as a reporter for Ventura News 12 in Ventura, California, and then quickly moved on to anchoring for NewsOne California in Los Angeles. For a change of pace, Rebecca decided to change coasts and join Cable 11 News as a general assignment reporter.

  When she’s not reporting Rebecca enjoys cooking, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends; especially her Chihuahua Maxwell Winston Wachtel. She also enjoys volunteering her time with special needs children and the elderly.
