Marie
joined the News 11 team in June 2009, and she is delighted to return
to
Lancaster
County.
Born and raised in
Lancaster, Marie is the daughter of two journalists, and she inherited a
passion for news. After attending
Manheim
Township
High School
, Marie earned a degree in political science and French from
Lebanon
Valley
College
in
Annville
, Pennsylvania
. Marie says she loves reporting because it gives her the
opportunity to meet new people everyday and tell their stories.
Marie began her television career in 2007 as an intern on the
assignment desk for WBZ-TV in
Boston
,
Massachusetts
. She later interned and worked on the assignment desk for WGAL-TV
in
Lancaster
. In addition to her TV news experience, Marie interned for a
nonprofit, nonpartisan citizens’ lobbying group in
Harrisburg
. She has also worked in public relations for a nonprofit
organization on
Cape Cod
that supports people with disabilities.
Marie is passionate about traveling and experiencing new
cultures. After finishing high school, she spent a year abroad as an
exchange student in
Belgium
, where she learned to speak French fluently. During college, she
returned to Europe and studied at a French university in
Montpellier
. It’s no surprise that Marie loves all things French; she even
uses a French press to make her coffee every morning!
