Carl Deffenbaugh joined the News 11 Sports team in January 2010. He is thrilled to do the one job he has always loved, covering sports. Carl grew up in Columbia, MD and graduated from Northwestern University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree.

 At Northwestern Carl anchored and produced 'Sports Night,' a weekly highlights and analysis show dedicated to Wildcat athletics. In 2008 'Sports Night' won the College Emmy for Best Newscast. During his junior year, Carl worked as a Sports Reporter at WLNS in Lansing, MI. He has also interned in the sports departments at WFLD in Chicago and WBAL in Baltimore.
